Why the HSPT matters differently than the ISEE or SSAT
The HSPT is a single-sitting Catholic high school entrance exam with its own section structure and timing. A platform built for the ISEE and SSAT first can still prepare students for the HSPT, but a dedicated app mirrors the exact HSPT format, which is what the test actually rewards.
The honest bottom line
Both can work. If HSPT is the only exam on your list, a dedicated HSPT app gives you the most targeted practice per dollar. If your child is also sitting for the ISEE or SSAT, Test Innovators multi-exam coverage is a real advantage. Start with a free baseline HSPT test to see where the points are before you commit.
Frequently asked questions
Is Test Innovators good for HSPT prep?
Test Innovators sells HSPT practice packages. On its HSPT pricing page, Starter is $59.99 for one full-length practice test and Ultimate is $179.99 for two full-length tests plus 850+ practice questions. Paid access lasts twelve months. The same company also prepares students for the ISEE, SSAT, SAT, PSAT, and ACT. HSPT Prep is the alternative when the HSPT is the exam you need to practice every day.
What is the best HSPT prep app?
For most families the best HSPT prep app is a dedicated one: HSPT Prep (hsptprep.app) gives free daily practice, instant explanations, and a weekly parent report. Weekly is $4.99 after 3 free days, and the Season Pass is $39. Test Innovators is a strong pick when you want its full-length HSPT tests or you are also preparing for another exam it covers.
Is the HSPT harder than the ISEE or SSAT?
Not harder, different. The HSPT is a single-sitting test with five sections — verbal, quantitative, reading, mathematics, and language — scored against the same year's applicant pool. The ISEE and SSAT have different formats, timing, and scoring. If your school list mixes Catholic and independent schools, prep needs to cover whichever tests those schools actually use.
