HSPT separate room and small group testing accommodations
Some students do better when the testing room is quieter, smaller, or less distracting. On the HSPT, that setup usually has to be approved before test day, so parents should ask about it as soon as the school list is real.

When this setup may matter
Families often ask about separate room or small group testing for students with ADHD, anxiety, sensory needs, medical needs, or documented learning differences. The school will usually want to know what support the student already receives and why that setup is needed for the HSPT.
Diocese of Oakland / STS
Per STS Oakland registration (as of September 20, 2026): families requesting extended time follow three published steps.
- Indicate extended time on the STS registration form
- Send documentation to the testing school and every school applied to
- Confirm accommodations with the testing school
